EAR SEEDS.....

You may have recently seen the Dragon's Den episode with the ear seeds (which has now been withdrawn). Perhaps this has given you pause for thought....? Well, ear acupuncture has been around for a very long time. Us acupuncturists look at the ears as a little microsystem of the body. Consequently there are lots of acupuncture points in the ear that can be used for all sorts of different reasons, It can be very relaxing and beneficial for all sorts of conditions, but we never make claims that ear acupuncture can cure ailments.

Ear acupuncture can be offered as a standalone treatment, or more commonly, as an adjunct to body acupuncture. Ear seeds are often applied to the ears after each treatment. They act as messengers to "carry on the good work" after a treatment. In my treatment room, I use gold-plated ear magnets, which are, in my opinion, just that little bit better. People say they enjoy having them on; they can aid relaxation and stress management, however I always recommend this goes alongside stress reduction or relaxation exercises, and perhaps lifestyle changes. Again, it is not professional for an acupuncturist to make claims of healing - usually, it is a combination of many things that help facilitate the path to wellness.

So there you go - a quick guide to ear acu! If you're interested to know more or want to try it out then please get in touch. Please note, I currently only offer ear acupuncture or ear magnets as part of a full treatment.
